about usCOMMUNITY
The way the world becomes a better place is by each person doing their part to make it so. I believe that I can make a difference in my own world, populated by family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues, the cashier register, the postal worker, the youth who delivers my morning newspaper, my all-too familiar mechanic and many more people.

Wishing for a better world is not enough, nor is surrending to a sense of being overwhelmed by the enormity of the challenges to get closer to that better world that is possible. This is what I tell myself: every ripple flows out. Where you are in the ripple of change - at the beginning, in the third wave - matters just as deeply.

Today I will not be able to end racism in the world, nor in my own hometown, but my goal remains to do what I can so that we can have a better day, we can become stronger  we will endure, get it done, discover, create and help make this country a more perfect union..

This controversial and racist play is beloved by generations, and its presentation at the Academy of Music was a good opportunity to talk about racism.
