Yoga in the ‘Yoke’ to Benefit Holyoke Food & Fitness

HOLYOKE – Interested in yoga but don’t know how to begin? Come try an open class offered outdoors at Heritage State Park on Sept. 1. Three types of classes will be offered in conjunction with the Great Holyoke Block Party, which runs from 12-9pm at Heritage State Park (see www.facebook.com/pages/Great-Holyoke-Block-Party/143449789018861 for more information about the Block Party).

The proceeds from the yoga classes will benefit the Holyoke Food & Fitness Policy Council, a local collaboration of organizations and community partners that are dedicated to creating a more healthy and vibrant Holyoke through the development of programs, policies and community leadership. Holyoke Food &Fitness works in partnership with community residents to improve healthy eating and physical activity throughout Holyoke.

Cost for each class is $5+ donation.   All classes are open to all levels of ability, but beginners and those new to yoga are especially encouraged to attend. For registration, go online to http://holyokefoodandfitness.eventbrite.com/ or call Lauren at 535-0365.
